SNOW SNOW SNOW

It FINALLY snowed!!!!!
I got a day off college due to the roads being so very scary to drive on, especially the little country lanes I have to take to college.
I managed to do a bit of art work then got bored and had to go outside!
For my art I have decided to explore the body being distorted or things not being how they originally seem, I hope this comes across!
This is some of my art I have been working on for the “body” project:

can you see the old man face ?

this is my brother but i have distorted the image

Inspired by Damien Hurts, Kate Moss cover for Tar Magazine, i painted my face in this picture to try and capture a similar effect

I had a lovely afternoon walking around in the snow with the boyfriend. Here is what I wore , I did have on gloves but they were so ugly I took them off for photos!

dont quite know what im dong here :S

Primark Headband

What I’m wearing : My Yeti coat from Zara (£10 in the sale), black vest Topshop, Jeans New Look , Boots Vintage.
Hope everyone thats had snow had a great day and everyone that didnt have snow too!!!
I hear theres more snow tomorow as well :)

Do I keep the coat ???

Still no snow L we might get some tomorrow fingers crossed!!
The boyfriend and I went to Camden Market yesterday; it was FREEZING but good fun! Had a lovely Chinese, though I was sad to see the prices have gone from £3 to £4.50, but I can’t really complain that’s still a fair price.
Anyway I couldn’t resist doing a bit of shopping. I got a lovely Aran knit jumper, I have wanted one for ages but the Topshop one was to expensive at £40, so I was pleased when I found this one for £15. It’s so warm and snugly.

I also couldn’t resist these Vintage lace up black boots, they were just £25. I’m still questioning how “vintage” they are as they look quite modern, but I can only trust what I was told in the shop as they have no labels on them. I love the heel height on them it’s not too high so you can easily walk around in them all day without getting sore feet!

And I solved my coat dilemma.... I think J
I saw this sheepskin coat and thought it was great for just £25. I bought it but when I got it home and had a good look at it I realised it’s a bit big and not quite as practical as I had hoped due to it bulkiness. I still think it’s lovely but I’m not sure whether it was the best buy, so I might be selling it, haven’t yet decided.  Anyway here is a picture would like your thoughts !

Like the coat or is it too big ???

Today was quite a boring day; I had to give a presentation on an Artist/Designer, I think went well so that’s all good J  and tonight I’m forcing the boyfriend to watch Americas Next Top Model with me! Have a good night everyone.

Wishing for a Winter Wonderland

Hope everyone is well J I’m ok except for my fingers being slightly numb from the cold making it rather tricky to type!
I’ve had so much art work to do over the last few days we had four weeks to do out BODY projects, two of which we were not doing it due to talks about our upcoming trip to Berlin (can’t WAIT ), so I’m rather behind and worrying a little because I only have two weeks left !
Anyway. I really want it to snow, it’s so pretty, and it means I can’t go to college (I work better from home anyway, less distractions believe it or not). Oh and it provides some excellent photo opportunities.
Here are some pictures for my Style Stalker section (these started of my want for snow):
Brian Edwards

Also now it’s getting colder I realise how much I dislike my (slightly too big) military coat from River Island. It just doesn’t fit me the way I want it to and makes me look the size of a bus! I have a large vintage fur coat which is lovely and warm but not always practical and feel I need a new practical warm coat J
dont know why i have such a moody face in this picture! im putting it down to the coat :P
I’m off to Camden market today with the boyfriend to have a good rummage through the vintage and thrift stalls! Hope you guys have a lovely day to!

Saatchi Gallery and Shopping :)

Had the most lovely day yesterday up in London, I was meant to be going to the UCAS fair but as I’m all done and dusted in that area and have got my place J woo, so I wandered up to London to see some galleries.
I absolutely LOVED the Saatchi Gallery well I particularly loved one part of it. A glass box filled with dead bugs suspended from the top of the box, doesn’t sound to amazing so far BUT when you looked closer there where tiny like skeleton figures riding and tearing apart the bugs, they looked like evil little dead fairies, it all sounds a bit morbid but it was truly amazing !
Here are some pictures J

Aren’t they cool!! Must have taken ages they are so tiny!!
And when in London I can’t really resist having a quick look round Oxford Street. Found a bag in Topshop which is kinda of brilliant, but at £55 I don’t think it will ever be mine!
Navajo pattern leather trim duffle bag £55 Topshop
This cardigan also caught my eye, i don’t normally shop in Miss Selfridge but wandered in there as its joined on to Topshop and found this black tasselled cardigan which I really liked! I’ve seen allot of these blanket cardigans around and really want one, but haven’t found any cheaper versions.
Limited edition black tassle blanket cardigan £60 Miss Selfridge
Hope you’ve all had a lovely week so far J

AWOL

Hello
I realise I have been a very bad blogger .I set out my plan to order/structure my blog and then I go and disappear for practically 5 days. I have been ill and when I’m ill I curl up in bed and drink countless cups of tea, so there’s my excuse.
I thought I would catch up on all that I have missed and do a quick Friday Fancies (just imagine its Friday again).

Love these boots, they are way out of my price range at the moment, but I think they are lovely.
And now for Saturday ’s Style Stalker.  Dr Martins. Let’s face it these are classics. I love the way these lovely ladies have styled them.

the one and only Daisy Lowe

from iscrapedmykneeonthecatwalk.blogspot
They manage to make most outfits to a bit rock and roll and instantly cool. As I’m a munchkin I look a bit clumpy in them so I was very pleased when I got these last year for my birthday J  great for people with little legs !!

I also like them in oxblood and they are SSOOOO comfy.
love

The Master Plan

Good day J
I’ve been thinking about my blog today during a rather boring art lesson and I think it needs a little bit more structure. I’ve been looking at loads of blogs which seems to have a set pattern amongst all the random comments and outfit posts.
I don’t really know how to go about planning it and how easy it will be to keep up but ye its worth a go!!
Ok I have college Monday Tuesday and Wednesday so I won’t have much time to think in general let alone about an interesting blog post!
So...
Monday - close up pictures e.g.  Rings, Hair styles, nail colours, self portrait
Tuesday and Wednesday will be random thoughts, pictures and outfits.
Friday Fancies – will be wants and wishes - a list of fabulous things I probably won’t be able to afford as I’m saving for uni next year like a good girl.
Saturday (At work in the morning, I’m a receptionist at a plastic surgery hospital, I have to smile, be delightful and take calls) - I think it will have to be more random jibber jabber and outfit posts I if have time.
And Sunday - style stalker, a mix of random peoples styles that I really like whether it be magazine editorials, street style pictures or celebrities.
Oh and just to add, this is what I wore yesterday, I had tights on but I was still freezing!
Faux Fur Coat, Primark Dress, Primark Hradband

This dress reminded me of Anna Sui 2009 New York Fashion week, cute whimsical boho dresses. LOVE.

Bits and Bobs

Alright lovelies
Lots of random bits and bobs today. College was interesting as we got given out new project.... The Body (very original). I find myself being excited by it though as we can pretty much take it in whatever direction we want to.
If anyone knows some great artists that paint/sculpt/photograph the body let me know, it would be VERY helpful.
At the moment I find myself loving these pictures from the Urban Outfitters Catalogue www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk. The styling is great fashion forward but effortless. I think I’m definitely going to try and recreate elements of these looks.

When browsing the Urban Outfitters website I came across this gold coloured (they also do it in silver) ear chain decoration for £10. I haven’t yet made my mind up if I love it or think it’s a little strange.
And now for two things I definitely love at the moment. Jeffery Campbell Lita’s in blue distressed, I want these sooo much, but they are almost impossible to get hold of in the UK L and this Topshop ring, this being the thing I will probably be more likely to get, its chunky and I like the fact it has a hinge.

Lita boots
Topshop Ring £14

Hope you had a lovely day :)

Seems so Crazy

Helllooo
Friday was my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend, one whole year, it seems crazy.
Anyway he got me a lovely vintage diamond and tanzanite ring and a simple beaten gold ring so I can stack them (I’m a bit obsessed with stacking all my rings at the moment).

He took me out to have Chinese, we were a tad late due to my indecisiveness over what to wear, I had two outfits planned but of course I had to try both on to see what I thought, eventually the decision was made for me when I was told by the boyfriend that a sequined jacket was far to dressed up (boys sometimes just don’t get fashion).  The outfit I wore was a pale blouse tucked into a pleated grey French connection skirt with little socks and lace up shoe boots.

I photographed both outfits so I could compare them more easily J is the Sequin jacket outfit to dressed up??
Sequined jacket Mango, Black Bdy Gok Wan, Trousers River Island, Cage Boots Peacocks

Now I have to get on with some major Art work for College, my second project is in on Monday and although I have done the work I found I have to present it on A1 paper, so need to get cutting and sticking! Wish me Luck and have a lovely weekend.

Another Average Day

Haven’t blogged since Sunday, seems like AGES! Anyway, today was a normal/average day at Art College, it’s the last week before our “Letters” project is meant to be handed in, so, everyone is in a sort of mad rush panic to get everything finished in time. Being a brilliant student :P have done most of my work already so I spent the day in the print room. I did rather basic forms of printing (mono prints and collagraph prints), but anyway, here are some of the results:

Also popped to the garage next door and picked up this month’s Glamour, and was thrilled to find it had a free nails Inc vanish free J  As I’m not really a pink person I opted for this great mushroom colour.

Oh and just to add this is what I wore, its getting rather chilling so I thought it was about time to bring out the faux fur. BOOM.
This coat was a bargain find at the Reading Music Festival, in a little vintage stall, I got it for just £10, made my Festival  10 times better!

Out and About

I had such a lovely day yesterday J  My boyfriend and I spent the day at Portobello Market in London’s famous Notting Hill. It was very refreshing to see all sorts of style and fashions up there, as in East Grinstead it is somewhat lacking (sorry).  I love having a good rummage though the stalls and finding some real treasures.
Here are some random pictures from the day, sorry there’s not very many but most people don’t like you taking pictures of the stalls :S
Had one of the best pancakes here, with lemon and sugar YUM

LOVE this shop it sells some of the best vinatge designer jewellery

These rings are around £80 each, need to start saving !!

A quick snap of me, sorry for the moody looking face !

I bought a great Led Zeppelin T-shirt, but need to cut out he neck, round necks look rubbish on me !

Cupcake

My purchases from Friday J All of these where £5 or under so I was a very happy bunny. I really love anything gold coloured and kinda chunky at the moment.
My favourites are the ram's head ring and the silver a slate bracelet

Oh and to top the day off, when I got home I found my Asos and River Island deliveries that had come the day before!!!
I’ve been wanting a pair of leather shorts for AGES, and got this pair from River Island, I also got this chunky gold necklace I wanted it when it was full price but at £15 it was too much for me, so I was thrilled to find it in the sale for just £2. The boots are from Asos, I love the chunky heel, I was torn whether to get them in black or taupe, but eventually decided on the taupe as i have nothing like them!

New Boots :)

Also I have a new look on Lookbook so please Hype if you like it, thanks J
